This week in Manhattan
Well, this is my first posting, and I'm very excited to start an on-line 'diary'.
The past week has been almost unbearably hot, tomorrow it's going to be 92 degrees, but there are lots of fun things happening around town at this time of year. There are the street fairs every weekend, which run for 10-15 blocks, and the stalls are always the same, but yummy food. R and I went to this one on Third Avenue last weekend.
We also decided to walk up Broadway from Union Square to 78th Street - yep, that's a long way. We had run out of Vegemite, (our regular supplier stopped supplying!) R had heard we could buy it on the Upper West Side, so off we went, only to discover that the store only sold Marmite, we bought some because we were desperate, but it's not good! We had a great walk though, I did manage to find some Vege on Thursday in SoHo though ($4.95 a small jar).
Last week, I went to see the 'Chanel' exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was great, here are some photos, the Met is covered in scaffolding at the moment, and is quite a sight.

Hi Kate
Thanks for your comment and happy blogging! :)
If you are desperate for Vegemite, Myers of Keswick is a funky little store in the West Village that sells British goodies (and Vegemite!). Its a little on the pricey side, but they have Maltesers, gum drops and lots of other great stuff.
